The mission of MSU AAVMP is to foster a community of APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American)-identifying veterinary students and professionals. MSU AAVMP strives to advocate for overall diversity in veterinary medical professionals by inspiring, supporting, and increasing the core values of representation, mentorship, advocacy, and fellowship. By offering professional and educational resources within the AAVMP network, we hope to foster success for APIDA veterinary, pre-veterinary, and veterinary nursing students through mentorship and shared cultural experiences. MSU AAVMP will seek to unite and support the APIDA veterinary community and demonstrate allyship alongside other APIDA interest groups at MSU for all faculty, staff, and students.

In 2018, Michigan State CVM Bee Medicine Club was founded after the Veterinary Feed Directive went into effect for Bees in 2017.

The purpose of the Bee Medicine Club is to bring awareness to the importance of pollinators and the critical role veterinarians can play in the health of honeybee hives. All while educating veterinary students in the field of honey bee veterinary medicine!

The Michigan State University Honey Bee Veterinary Medicine Club is a student chapter of the Honey Bee Veterinary Consortium (HBVC).

Students may join Shelter Medicine Club by paying joint dues which grants access to both Shelter Medicine Club and the Student Chapter of the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association. Dues are $8 per semester or $15 per year as of1/23/23 and are subject to change at the executive board's discretion. Members will be eligible for food at meetings, national HSVMA membership, and first choice for participation in wet labs.
