Our nonprofit organization focuses on raising awareness of the mounting homeless and stray dog epidemic in Detroit, along with advocating for humane rescue alternatives such as no-kill sheltering, foster care and adoptions, pet identification and healthy pet population control through spay and neutering. Detroit Dog Rescue also specializes in community outreach, and we work closely with local, city and statewide organizations in order to educate and involve people in this cause. Mission
The mission of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) is to promote comfort care that addresses the physical, psychological, and social needs of animals with chronic and/or life-limiting diseases. The IAAHPC also promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual support for caregivers. The IAAHPC is committed to providing education for professionals, and advance research in the field of animal hospice and palliative care. Its vision is for hospice and palliative care to be broadly recognized by veterinarians, veterinary nurses/technicians, and mental health/spiritual care professionals worldwide as an integral part of quality animal care. The IAAHPC is committed to innovation, respect, teamwork, integrity, commitment, and inclusivity.
IAAHPC Student Chapters are our next step in educating veterinarians and students about the importance of animal hospice and palliative care.

Membership Benefits
- Free Student Membership: Members must be registered with the IAAHPC parent organization, and student membership is available at no cost.

We want to encourage and teach students to have day one ready skills in theriogenology. We spread our focus into all fields to incorporate every student. We cover topics from the start of the process with semen collection and evaluation and breeding to the end process of parturition and neonate care.

The purpose of this organization shall be to educate veterinary students on the field of ophthalmology in veterinary medicine. This will allow students to explore the specialty early on in their education. Students will have the opportunity to listen to guest speakers and join webinars so they can understand the steps necessary to becoming a Veterinary Ophthalmologist as well as learn about the diverse aspects of the field. Students will be exposed to ophthalmologists so that they may begin making connections and seek out shadowing experiences during their four years of vet school. The club will also provide students an opportunity to grasp a better understanding of ophthalmology outside of its career aspects. It will allow students to better understand ophthalmic concepts as well as how they are connected to multiple fields of veterinary medicine.
